About House of Camping in Bridgeview, IL

In 1966 George Andrews Sr. with his wife Trudy rented a small single unit store front at 8407 S. Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, Illinois and established the House of Camping. In the beginning, George along with his family would make weekly trips to the plants in Michigan and Indiana to pick up a single tent camper and return to the dealership in hopes of retailing his investment. Work weeks were often 60 to 70 hours Monday through Sunday, seven days a week. George and his family always had a single goal in mind, not the profit they made but the service they were providing their customers and the enjoyment it brought to them. As the RV industry grew, so did the House of Camping.

In 1985, George and his family opened a new facility across the street from it's original location. With the move it allowed the family owned dealership to grow - offering a larger selection of towable RV's along with an expanded parts, service and showroom. With a strong customer loyalty and our partnership with Rockwood, Wildwood, Sierra and Forest River, House of Camping has become one of the largest and oldest RV Dealerships in Illinois and in the Midwest.
